Embraced by the Cap of Nice on the right and Cap Ferrat on the left. The charming Old Town of Villefranche-Sur-Mer cascades down the hillside to the sea, and the sandy kilometer-long beach offers great recreation throughout the year.

The Port

Brightly painted fishing boats bob alongside Villefranche’s pretty quayside lined with enticing restaurants whose blackboards proclaim freshly caught ‘Loup de mer’, ‘St pierre’, ‘Rouget’ and other untranslatable fishes of the Mediterranean.

But there’s more to Villefranche than just the port!

Breathtaking Views

Exploring alleys behind the harbour reveal a charming medieval quarter, shaded lanes of shops and cafés opening into peaceful leafy squares.

This fragile gem nestling between the heavyweights of Nice and Monaco, is deserving of its photogenic reputation. Villefranche should definitely stay on your ‘must-see’ list.

The town does have a beautiful beach, “Plage des Marinieres”, that has the most beautiful blue water, the perfect place to spend the day relaxing in the sun and playing in the sea.

Historical surroundings

The old town of Villefranche will leave you with your eyes wide open.

Following the bright colour scheme that surrounds the town, you will find monumental jewels with a unique style, such as the Church of “Saint-Michael” or the Chapel of “Sant Pierre des Pecheurs”.

Also, to enjoy the best view of the town, we recommend you to visit the “Saint-Elme” Citadel.

It is a 16th-century medieval fortress located on a hilltop high above the city, which offers the best view in town, as it is positioned high enough to look over the Bay of Nice, the town, and the surrounding coastline.
